Greetings one and all! I’ve finally thought of a use for this tumblr blog thingy. I recently came across a biography of sorts of a tattoo artist that goes by the art name of GRIME. He’s a very interesting character and does some amazing art. In any case, what he did was to spend two years making art sketches or just art in general, one or more pieces a day.
Anyway, my thought was to do something similar. By trade, I’m primarily a musician, as you can tell from my about me section, and I also dabble in Graphic design. In an effort to flex my creative skills, I want to do something similar: to create art daily in the form of music, graphic design, writing (which can be anything from poetry to prose), or some combination of the three. I would upload the content to tumblr hopefully daily. I plan to start this project at a point when my life is less crazy (i.e. when I’m not in school), so be on the lookout in the near future for that.
My memorial tattoo for my boyfriend that passed away. I wanted something that told our story without being a typical memorial tat. The basis is an Alchemic transmutation circle from the anime FullMetal Alchemist with symbols in balance around the edge that celebrated he and I. Infinity, Male Symbols, his zodiac (Scorpio), Alpha/Omega, Equality, my zodiac (Gemini). In the center is the triquetra which stands for any trinity. It’s for the change that happened in my life and shows that in order to have had all the good times, I had to give something up in return.
It was done by Ben Dixon at LoneWolf Body Art in Nashville, TN
If you’ve been following me for a decent amount of time you already know I have a soft spot for pupps…especially pit bulls…and from time to time I try and help out by posting something on here to get the word out about pupps that need help.
This is Morgan! I think he’s adorable!! He reminds me of my own little pupp, Thunder, which I rescued back in June. Morgan is in the Chicago area and needs a foster or FURever home. He’s had it pretty rough…he was left out in the middle of a snow storm, rescued at the very last minute from the CACC and has been in boarding for the last 2 months. He’s super sweet and cuddly and would love to have a nice warm home!!
I know a dog is a HUGE commitment and if you can’t adopt…
…maybe you can foster!! And if you can’t foster…
…maybe you can donate!! They even have an Amazon.com Wish List!! And if you can’t donate…
…REBLOG because maybe one of your followers can help out!! :D
[Their issues are] anti-abortion, anti-gay rights — but they also have … the belief that government should not be involved in social safety nets, that the country is becoming socialist, if not communist. … — All of what we’ve come to call ‘Tea Party issues’ of very small government. In the case of the Apostles, they believe this because they believe that a large government that handles the safety net is taking away what is the domain of the Church and of Christianity.
Ummmmm………..WHAT??!?!?!??!?

A new Christian movement that seeks to take dominion over politics, business and culture in preparation for the end times and Jesus’s return, is becoming more of a presence in American politics. On today’s Fresh Air, Rachel Tabachnick, who researches the religious right, explains its beliefs and influences. (via nprfreshair)
OMGEE! This looks amazing! (not typically the aesthetic I go for personally, but still looks amazing)
I’ve been waiting for this movie for a while now. Anybody know when and if it’ll be playing in Los Angeles?
What better reason to be a clown, right?
Decide this very moment what you want your history to be.

Me (unless someone proves me wrong)
I don’t mind if this program takes the place of Dreamweaver, as I never warmed up to it, but part of the fun of making websites, for me at least, is implementing the code and writing it out by hand. I’d be on board with this if the program implemented a way to work in coding. (my personal preference)
Seriously so pumped about this. Adobe Muse comes out to blend graphic design and web coding by taking out the coding part of it. No CSS, HTML, or Java. Just design. Downloaded and testing it right now!
First Day of School!
Yes, it is that time of year again, when students across the US begin another year of learning and whatnot. I, for one, am tremendously excited for what the year brings. Not only am I taking some spectacular classes, I’m also learning the value of moderation in terms of the classes I take.
Originally, I had intended to take the core music classes for my instrument (bassoon lessons, masterclass, large ensembles, and small ensembles), early music performance practice, harpsichord lessons, piano lessons, Italian, German, AND audit a Schenkerian analysis course (it may not seem like a lot on paper, but I assure you it would have been). After careful consideration, and feeling that my time would have been too absorbed for me to better pursue what I’m going to school for (bassoon, “and all that that implies…”), I decided to drop the languages and to not audit the Schenkerian class after all.
Make no mistake, I would dearly love to learn the languages, and though the more time passes the harder it will be to learn another language, I can learn the language when I’m not in school (or at a later point in my education). And I would enjoy a refresher course on Schenkerian analysis, but I’ve already taken a class, and already know the basics of the subject.
Performing is where my heart lies, so that is where I am going to direct my attention this year. I hope that it will yield great results, and I’ll be sure to tumbl about it as time progresses.
